Job summary

Texas Tech University School of Law Library in Lubbock, TX invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track Law Library Faculty position with a primary administrative focus on instructional services and a negotiable January 2027 start date.

The role emphasizes instructional leadership, curriculum development, and collaboration with faculty across the Law School, with a hybrid work arrangement and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school and MLS (or equivalent) from an ALA-accredited graduate school, obtained by position start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and administrative leadership for the Law Library’s instructional services, working collaboratively with leadership and Law Library staff.
• Manage instructional services, including coordinating programs; developing, implementing, and evaluating services; and recommending improvements.
• Build on existing instructional services and develop new programs, services, partnerships, and approaches consistent with the Law Library’s mission and priorities.
• Provide leadership for the development of a legal research curriculum across the Law School, from first year through upper-level courses, clinics, and journals.
• Lead the Law Library’s collaboration with Legal Practice faculty on the 1L legal research curriculum, including materials, assessment, and improvement.
• Provide strategic leadership for the Excellence in Legal Research Program, including curriculum development and program growth.
• Evaluate developments in law practice, AI, and research technologies in instructional services as appropriate.
• Oversee instructional services content, including research guides and course materials.
• Ensure accessibility compliance across instructional services.
• Provide instructional-design leadership to Law Library Faculty teaching for-credit courses.
