Job summary

ICE's Office of the Principal Legal Advisor seeks a Librarian (Law) to provide reference and research support, guiding users to legal resources and compiling legislative histories. The role includes training staff in library technologies and preparing outreach materials, with publication duties via SharePoint and budget support.

The position requires a law specialization either via legal coursework or equivalent experience, and involves working in a federal environment with varied locations

Qualifications

• Meet one of the two Basic Requirements: (A) 1 year of grad study in library science plus bachelor's degree, or (B) 5 years of combined college education, training, and experience.
• Provide transcripts to verify education/experience.
• Specialized Experience: at least 1 year at GS-12 level performing legal research, assisting customers, and identifying information gaps.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference and research support guiding users to legal resources.
• Advise and train OPLA staff in library technologies and references.
• Draft written training and outreach materials.
• Assist in preparing content for publication via SharePoint.
• Assist with maintaining the library budget and preparing budget requests.
• Enhance resource sharing through DHS and agency partnerships.
