Job summary

Angove Partners seeks an Underwriting Analyst in New York to support the underwriting process by analyzing financial, commercial and operational data to assess risks for prospective and existing clients.

You will perform risk and financial analyses, conduct due diligence, assist senior underwriters with submissions and recommendations, monitor portfolio performance, and liaise with brokers and clients to gather missing information for underwriting decisions.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in administrative, data management or operations support.
• Law degree.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously

Responsibilities

• Risk analysis: Assess financial, operational, commercial and industry-specific information to identify potential risks.
• Financial analysis: Review financial statements, management accounts, forecasts and other financial data to evaluate the financial strength of an insured or transaction.
• Due diligence: Conduct research and analysis of companies, assets, projects and counterparties to support underwriting decisions.
• Underwriting support: Assist senior underwriters with evaluating submissions, preparing underwriting recommendations and determining appropriate terms and conditions.
• Portfolio analysis: Monitor existing books of business, analysing performance, exposure, claims trends and concentration risk.
• Data analysis: Use internal and external data to identify trends, assess risk and support underwriting decisions.
• Documentation: Review and prepare underwriting files, risk summaries, reports and other relevant documentation.
• Broker client interaction: Liaise with brokers, clients and other stakeholders to obtain additional information and clarify aspects of submissions.
• Market research: Monitor developments within relevant industries, insurance markets and emerging areas of risk.
• Transaction support: For specialist areas such as transactional risk insurance, assist with the analysis of M&A transactions, legal due diligence, financial information and deal structures to support underwriting decisions.

What you need to apply:
