Job summary

The Ward Law Group is seeking a Controller to oversee daily accounting operations, budget planning, and financial reporting for a busy personal injury law firm in Florida. The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, leadership, and experience in professional services or law firm settings.

You will manage client trust accounting, disbursements, and cost tracking while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification is preferred for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll coordination, and month-end close.
• Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Provide financial analysis, KPIs, cash flow reports, and profitability insights to leadership.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax requirements, and law firm regulations.
