A well-established, multi-office plaintiff law practice is seeking a top finance and accounting executive to take full ownership of its financial operations. This is a confidential search for a high-volume Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice firm with complex multi-entity structures and partner distributions. You’ll modernize systems, oversee cash flow and disbursements, and deliver a 60–90 day plan to stabilize and scale financial operations.

About the Role

They are seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations, oversee a team of 5–6, and ensure accuracy across a high-volume, multi-entity legal environment. This role requires hands-on management, strong technical skills, and the ability to support both staff and firm leadership in maintaining financial accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations across 12 entities, including client disbursements, deposits, and partner-level transactions.
• Supervise, train & support a team of 5–6 (9 total in department), stepping in directly when needed.
• Oversee financial reporting, GL reconciliations, and bank accounts for accuracy & timeliness.
• Partner with firm leadership to provide transparent reporting & resolve accounting issues.
• Ensure timely completion of client disbursements across all offices.
• Assist with clean-up, system consistency, and ongoing process improvements across QuickBooks, Sage, & ADP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience, with preference for backgrounds in law firms, legal services, or accounting/consulting firms with law firm clientele.
• 1+ years of supervisory experience managing accounting teams.
• Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves leadership style with strong communication & collaboration skills.

Pay range and compensation package

Base Salary: $75,000–$85,000 + Year-End Bonus
