Job summary
The City of Coral Springs Police Department is recruiting Law Enforcement Trainees who are prepared to become Police Officers immediately after successful completion of the Police Academy. Trainees are sworn in and promoted upon academy completion, with base pay increasing to $81,392.
Under supervision, you will assist with non-emergency police work, traffic control, investigations, and daily reporting, while being sponsored through the Broward College Institute of Public Safety Police Academy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, OR equivalent combination may be considered.
- Must sign a contract to complete Bachelor's degree within 5 years if hired without one.
- Must be at least 21 years old and a United States Citizen.
- Possess a valid Florida driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Responsibilities
- Enforces vehicle parking and operating laws; issues citations.
- Assists with investigations of wanted/missing persons and stolen property.
- Directs traffic and assists pedestrians at intersections.
- Prepares daily/periodic reports and maintains logs.
- Assists with disaster preparedness and emergency response; evacuation traffic.
- Assists with animal control services.
- Attends training academy and related sessions.
