Job summary

Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a self-motivated, versatile Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Sergeant (FRLEO) to serve as a technical and operational leader for shift operations. The Sergeant provides guidance and direction to officers, guiding day-to-day activities and training, while internal candidates may start in October 2026 and external candidates in January 2027 for academy training.

The position is fully onsite in Kansas City, MO with rotating shifts, rigorous background

Qualifications

5+ years of relevant law enforcement experience.
High school education or GED.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Strong understanding of business processes.
Independent, highly skilled professional.
Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient with PCs, email, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate law enforcement staff on patrols, posts, and security duties.
Serve as liaison between management and staff to facilitate communication.
Protect personnel, property, assets, and operations; address security concerns.
Respond to disturbances and emergencies, including life-threatening events.
Make critical on-scene decisions regarding force and weapon use.
Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain records.
Operate and monitor security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms, etc.).
May perform Canine Handler, Instructor, or Field Training Officer roles.
Lead teams and oversee day-to-day activities of the Law Enforcement Department.
Ensure compliance with policies and proper equipment readiness.
Complete department reports and provide administrative support.
