Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or GED, and vision correctable to 20/20.
Must be at least 20 years of age to apply.
Must be 21 years or older on the date of the Missouri POST license exam.
Must possess/maintain a valid Missouri Driver's License.
Must have no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions.
Must pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record check.

Responsibilities

Attain Missouri Peace Officer Standard Training (POST) Certification.
Attend law enforcement training academy selected by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
Eligible for promotion to Deputy Sheriff I after certification.
