Job summary

The Cincinnati Insurance Companies’ Staff Counsel office in Fairfield, Ohio is seeking a paid law clerk who is a 2nd-year law student to support in-house litigation. The position will start in May 2027 and requires availability up to 40 hours per week, with a minimum of 15 hours during the school year.

Starting pay is $25/hr. Responsibilities include legal research, drafting memoranda, deposition/trial prep, attendance at depositions and trials, and indexing of medical records.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in 2nd year at an accredited law school.
• Collegiate transcripts required (unofficial acceptable).
• Ability to work at least 15 hours per week (school year) and up to 40 hours per week (summer).
• In good academic standing (GPA 3.0+ preferred).

Candidates should have the ability to work in the United States for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship. Starting Rate of Pay: $25/hr.

Be ready to:

Be equipped with:

• good legal research and writing skills required
• organizational and time-management skills
• ability to think critically, problem-solving and decision making skills

• experience in civil litigation (discovery, briefing, research) through previous employment experience a plus
