ARK Solutions, Inc. is seeking a paralegal for a remote role that requires candidates to be within the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area or within an 80-mile commute from DC. The position supports trial teams with complex legal research and document preparation.

Under supervision, you will conduct thorough legal research, assist in drafting motions and briefs, and review documents for relevance and privilege while supporting attorneys through various stages of litigation and eDiscovery workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience performing complex legal research for litigation teams.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with eDiscovery procedures and resources.
• Ability to review pleadings and assist in drafting motions and related filings.
• Proficiency with word processing, databases, and file management systems.

Location: Remote role but candidates should be within DMV and/or max 80 mile/minute commute from DC location.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or a Project Supervisor.
• Performs complex legal research for the trial staff.
• Assists in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc.
• Reviewing documents for relevance and privilege; and assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation.

Required Skills:

• Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
• Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
• Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.
• Requires hands-on familiarity with Client tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
• Must have experience: Ability to review pleadings, draft pleadings, and handle the general support needs client has to process and litigate the thousands of cases each month.
