Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin School of Law is seeking a Career Counselor and Placement Coordinator to provide comprehensive career advising to 1L–3L students and recent graduates. The role builds employer relationships nationwide and coordinates programs that showcase legal career paths.

Responsibilities include 1:1 advising, resume and mock interview coaching, and developing resources to support students seeking law firm, in-house, or JD Advantage opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred.
• Experience in career counseling or higher education is desirable.
• Strong writing and communication skills and professional demeanor are essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized career advising to students and recent graduates (1L–3L, up to 3 years post-graduation).
• Build connections with students, alumni, and legal employers to cultivate a strong network.
• Design and present career programming and publish career resources.
