Job summary

Wintermeyer Ventures is seeking an attorney to join a law and motion and appeals team in Los Angeles. You will research and write advocacy that supports litigation strategy across multiple civil practice areas.

Must have 2–10 years of civil litigation defense experience with strong writing, a J.D. and CA Bar in good standing, and experience drafting motions and appellate briefs. Hybrid work arrangement in Los Angeles.

Qualifications

• Two to ten years of civil litigation defense experience, with a strong focus on legal writing.
• A J.D. and active California State Bar membership in good standing.
• Experience drafting motions, oppositions, or appellate briefs, with a writing sample demonstrating excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of California civil procedure and substantive law across litigation matters.
• Experience working in a civil litigation defense firm and meeting an annual billable target of 1,920 hours.
• Familiarity with Westlaw and LexisNexis, and Zoom.

• Draft post-trial motions, including motions for a new trial and motions for attorney's fees.
• Research complex legal issues and provide strategic recommendations to litigation attorneys and clients.
• Assess litigation and appellate strategies, with opportunities to handle appeals and participate in appellate arguments.

What We're Looking For

Compensation & Benefits

Annual base salary: $130,000 to $185,000. Visa sponsorship is not available.
