Job summary

Rite of Passage Team at Western Secure Treatment Unit in Emlenton, PA is hiring a Laundry Helper. The role involves sorting, washing, drying and folding student clothing and linens, and ensuring adequate inventory for current and incoming students.

You will maintain cleaning supplies in designated areas in compliance with MSDS and OSHA regulations, and guarantee linens are available for staff when visiting the site. A high school diploma and ability to pass background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass background check, drug screen (no THC), TB test, and clearance of child abuse registry.

Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry and fold student clothing and linens.
• Maintain inventory to ensure adequate supplies for students and staff.
• Keep cleaning supplies stocked and compliant with MSDS and OSHA.
• Provide linens for staff when visiting the site.

Western Secure Treatment Unit (WSTU) is a secure post-adjudication facility that provides comprehensive services to young women (14-21), using a trauma-informed, strength-based, gender responsive model. Through rigorous education, positive skill development, and individualized therapeutic interventions and treatment, we empower youth to reach their full potential. The facility features residential student dormitories, on-site schooling, a vocational CTE student work training program, a dining hall, and extracurricular opportunities for the young men. What you will do:

• As a Laundry Worker, you will sort, wash, dry and fold student clothing, linens, etc.
• Assure clothing inventory is adequate for current and incoming students and staff
• Maintain adequate cleaning supplies in designated areas and in compliance with MSDS binder and OSHA regulations
• Ensure adequate linens are provided for ROP staff when visiting the site.

To be considered you should:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen (we no longer test for THC for pre-employment), physical, and TB test
• Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.

Schedule:

A schedule of 5 days on, 2 day off
