Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Tyler, TX is seeking a full-time Laundry Attendant to load, unload and tend laundering machines, mix cleaning solutions, and prepare surgical linen packs for Central Sterilization. You will sort, fold, and distribute linens to multiple hospital departments, ensuring accuracy and quality standards.

Working hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime as needed. A High School Diploma is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sorts and processes hospital linen according to established procedures.
• Operates industrial laundry machinery (CBW, 750 lbs, and other washers).
• Handles Washer Extractor 450 lbs, Washer 125 lbs, and Washer Extractor/Household washers.
• Performs hand folding and uses finishing equipment (folders, feeders, ironers, presses).
• Constructs surgical linen packs for Central Sterilization and linen carts for shipment.

Responsibilities

• Sorts and processes hospital soiled/clean linen in accordance with pre-established washing formulas and hospital operating procedures
• Operates industrial laundry machinery such as Continuous Batch Washer (CBW), 750 lbs
• Washer Extractor, 450 lbs
• Washer 125 lbs
• Washer Extractor, 85 lbs
• Washer Extractor and Household washer
• Hand folds and operates industrial laundry linen finishing equipment such as folders, feeders, ironers and steam pressing machines
• Constructs surgical linen packs utilized by the Central Sterilization Reprocessing Departments
• Constructs linen Par/Bulk carts for shipment throughout the organization
