Ovation by Avamere is seeking a Laundry Technician to ensure a clean, sanitary environment for residents in a memory care and assisted living setting.

The role involves collecting, sorting, laundering, and distributing linens and personal clothing, with strict infection control protocols and compassionate resident care. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, at Ovation Sienna Hills in Washington, UT.

Responsibilities

Laundry Technician - Full-time (Finance)

Status: Full-Time (Monday - Friday) 8:30am - 5:00pm

The Laundry Technician ensures a clean, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents by

efficiently collecting, sorting, laundering, and distributing facility linens and personal clothing. In

a memory care and assisted living environment, this role requires strict adherence to infection

control protocols, specialized handling of sensitive fabrics, and a compassionate approach to

resident dignity

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

• Collection & Sorting: Collect soiled linens and personal clothing daily from resident rooms and designated drop-off points. Sort items by fabric, color, and soil level, specifically identifying articles that require specialized stain treatment or delicate handling.
• Laundering Operations: Operate commercial-grade washers and dryers according to established sanitation and thermal disinfection protocols. Properly measure and dispense detergents, bleaches, and softeners.
• Finishing & Distribution: Fold, hang, and organize clean laundry. Promptly return clean, wrinkle-free personal clothing to individual resident closets and drawers to promote independence and dignity. Restock clean linens on floor units.
• Resident- Specific Protocols: For memory care residents, ensure that clothing is systematically labeled or tagged to prevent loss. Change and launder linens and clothing immediately whenever they become soiled or wet.
• Equipment & Facility Maintenance: Keep the laundry area clean, organized, and free of hazards. Regularly clean machine filters, drums, and surrounding surfaces to prevent lint buildup and maintain safety. Report malfunctioning equipment to facility management.
• Compliance & Infection Control: Strictly comply with universal precautions, HIPAA regulations, and state/federal health regulations regarding the handling of soiled versus clean materials. Use assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately.
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Experience with various cleaning methods and equipment.
• Ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate with staff and follow instructions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members.
• 18 years or older.
• Prefer experience working in housekeeping or laundry in a medical facility.
• Maintain tactful composure and confidentiality with residents, family members, staff and visitors.
• A genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
