Job summary

Prism Specialties is seeking a Laundry Technician to process soft goods and respond to commercial and residential customers affected by water, fire, or mold damage. This position requires the ability to be on call and respond immediately as necessary based on company needs.

You will sort, wash, dry and fold laundry, assess fabrics, learn systems and processes, and communicate with customers and insurance adjusters. Travel may be required and overtime may be available.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and good driving record preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Bend over, crawl or kneel.
• Ability to learn, comprehend and follow instructions.
• Must be able to speak English.

Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry and fold laundry.
• Aptitude to learn systems and processes.
• Knowledge of fabrics, tools, equipment, and safety practices preferred.
• Determine the cleanability of items.
• Follow manufacturer instructions for equipment maintenance.
• Read cleaning labels and determine cleaning methods for fabrics.
• Respond to insurance claims.
• Walk-through claims with an adjuster and insured, explain our process.
• Photograph affected textiles and damaged goods.
• Complete electronic paperwork for claims using an iPad.
• Pickup/delivery of textiles/soft goods.
• Communicate with customers to ensure needs are met.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and warehouse.
• Travel with overnight stays if needed.
• Work overtime if needed.
• Ensure jobs exceed customer expectations.
• Support other business functions as brand/biz grows.

About the Role

Prism Specialties is a specialty contents restoration service company. We are looking for a Laundry Technician to process soft goods and respond to commercial and residential customers affected by water, fire, or mold damage. This position requires the ability to be on call and respond immediately as necessary based on company needs.

Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry and fold laundry
• Aptitude to learn systems and processes
• Knowledge of fabrics, tools, equipment, and safety practices preferred
• Responsible for determining the cleanability of items
• Know how equipment is operated and follow manufacturer instructions for maintenance
• Must be able to read cleaning labels and determine cleaning method for various fabrics
• Respond to claims assigned by insurance companies
• Walk-through claims with an insurance adjuster and the insured, explaining our process
• Photograph affected area as well as damaged textiles/soft goods
• Complete electronic paperwork for claims using an iPad
• Pick-up/delivery of customer's textiles/soft goods items
• Communicate with the customer to make sure all needs are met
• Clean and maintain company vehicles, equipment, and warehouse as needed
• Ability to travel with overnight stay, if needed
• Ability to work overtime, if needed
• Ensure that all jobs are completed beyond our customer's expectations
• Willingness to support other business functions as the brand and business grow (do laundry to support the textile business, assist on pickup and deliveries for art business, and assist owners in administrative duties as requested)
• Customer service centric attitude and approach to business each day
• Additional responsibilities as requested by management

Compensation: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
