Job description

Laundry Housekeeping Aide (Maintenance)

1. Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day, including the lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
2. Ensure the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms.
3. Maintain handrails to ensure they are clean and free of debris.
4. Clean and remove dust, dirt, or food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and towel dispensers.
5. Empty trash cans and replace liners.
6. Sweep and mop floors.
7. Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including using caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of residents' reach.
8. Use supplies and equipment safely, following user manual instructions.
9. Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean, and orderly manner.
10. Notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately regarding resident safety issues or concerns.
11. Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishing.
12. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and maintain a positive attitude.
13. Exhibit excellent time management skills.
14. Work independently or as part of a team.

Supervisory Requirements

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Experience in a long-term care facility preferred.
3. Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals.
4. Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
5. Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various formats.
6. Fluent in written and spoken English.

Physical Demands

Must occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds. Regularly sit, kneel, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear. Use of office equipment and housekeeping supplies is required.

Work Environment

Typically low to moderate noise and odor levels. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
