Job summary

The Ben, a luxury 208-room boutique hotel in West Palm Beach, seeks a laundry associate who processes soiled linen and distributes clean linen per SOPs. The role supports guest comfort and hotel operations with careful attention to detail.

Responsibilities include sorting, washing, drying, folding, and inspecting linen, while maintaining a safe, clean work area and following safety procedures. Prior laundry experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort soiled linen into containers following safety practices.
• Sort linens for off-site washing; load/unload carts; fold towels, rugs, robes; place on racks.
• Weigh linen in carts to report linen sent offsite; track reclaim, damaged, discarded linen.
• Process sorted linen using washers/dryers; ensure finished product meets quality standards.
• Follow hazardous chemical procedures; ensure bloodied linen does not return to supplies.
• Inspect linen for tears or sub-standard conditions; remove from guest inventory.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area; empty lint traps after each load.
• Notify supervisor of equipment issues; ensure efficient laundry operation.
• Stock and deliver linen carts to guest room floors; inventory stock levels.

Job Overview

With a focus on service excellence and team contribution, process soiled linen and distribute clean linen in accordance with standard operating procedures in a safe, accident-free manner, as assigned by management. In this 208-room boutique hotel that injects fresh energy into downtown West Palm Beach while honoring a celebrated past, this role is part of something worth being proud of. Through careful attention to detail and a genuine commitment to guest comfort, this role keeps The Ben always at its best.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort soiled linen into appropriate containers following all safety practices.
• Sorts used linens, clean towels, rugs and robes into appropriate categories for off-site washing. Sorts out stained or torn linen. Loads and unloads carts. Uses manual folding for bath towels, washcloths, rugs and robes. Places folded product on appropriate rack.
• Weighs linen in respective cart vessel to ensure accurate reporting of linen sent offsite.
• Tracks reclaim, damaged and discarded linen
• Process sorted linen utilizing the washers, dryers, sheet spreaders, ironers, and feeder/folders ensuring finished product is inspected and meets quality standards.
• Follow all hazardous chemical procedures and ensure bloodied linen does not return to supplies.
• Inspect linen on a regular basis for tears, holes or sub-standard conditions and remove from guest inventory.
• Maintain assigned work area in a clean and safe condition.
• Empty lint traps after each load to ensure safety of equipment and building.
• Notify supervisor of malfunctioning equipment, supplies needed, damaged linens, to ensure laundry operation is running at maximum efficiency level.
• Ensure linen carts are stocked and prepared to be delivered to guest room floors.
• Inventory stock to ensure that supplies and equipment are available in adequate amounts.
