Job summary

Paramount Hospitality Newnan is seeking a laundry attendant to ensure a steady flow of clean linens and towels for the hotel. The role includes assisting with cleaning public areas and supporting room attendants with guest rooms, including vacuuming, carpet shampooing, and floor care.

Responsibilities also cover linen processing, inventory support, and maintaining a clean laundry area. Candidates should be able to lift, stand for long periods, and follow all safety procedures and service

Qualifications

• Must be able to arrive to work on time and as scheduled.
• Physically able to stand up to 7 hours a day and move/lift heavy linen items.
• Ability to operate washer and dryer equipment.
• Strong communication with guests or team members, verbally or in writing.

Job description

As a laundry attendant, your main responsibility is to maintain a constant supply of clean linens and towels for the hotel. Other responsibilities include assisting with cleaning and maintaining public areas of the hotel, assisting room/suite attendants with general cleaning of guest rooms and suites. This includes: vacuuming; shampooing of carpets; cleaning/waxing of floors; trash removal; stocking and maintaining supply rooms and other cleaning duties.

65% Perform all stages of linen processing (I.e., sorting and weighing soiled and unsoiled linen, loading and unloading washers and dryers, folding and storing linen)

10% Clean laundry machinery

10% Assist in laundry inventory

10% Clean laundry area

5% Fold and store valet and laundry bags

Supportive Functions

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the requirements of the company.

• Assist co-workers, as requested
• Keep work area neat and organized
• Respond to guest requests
• Report all mechanical problems and hazardous conditions to supervisor or manager

Other Duties

Assimilate into Paramount Hospitality Management (PHM) culture through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of orientation and training. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards. Regular attendance in conformance with company standards is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

OSHA laws require the use of the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work duties that have the potential of risk to your health or safety:
