Job summary

Bernalillo County is seeking a Laundry Attendant for the Youth Services Center. You will manage laundry from sorting to folding and ensure linens, resident clothing, bedding, and towels are processed safely and efficiently.

You will operate and monitor washers and dryers, perform light equipment maintenance, and maintain inventory while following safety standards. The role emphasizes accuracy, independence, and attention to cleanliness in a secure setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and be a minimum of at least 16 years old and enrolled in school.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort soiled laundry by residential units and types (resident clothing, bedding, towels).
• Operate washers/dryers with appropriate settings and measure chemicals.
• Load/unload machines; fold and return clean laundry to destinations.
• Perform light maintenance; report equipment issues to supervisor.
• Maintain organized supplies and inventory; report replacements needed.
