Job summary

Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Welch, MN seeks a Laundry Attendant to wash, dry, sort, fold and inspect linens, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and guest service. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle varied priorities, and assist with room cleaning as needed.

Previous laundry or housekeeping experience is preferred; candidates should be accurate, organized and able to follow instructions, dress code policies and safety guidelines. Training will be provided on site.

Description

SUMMARY: To wash and iron linens and towels. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards. May be 16 years of age or older.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate industrial laundry equipment to perform a variety of duties including but not limited to washing, drying, sorting, folding and inspecting items for wear and tear
• Ensure laundry area is clean and organized
• Sort and prioritize incoming laundry
• Stock carts and storage areas with linen and terry and maintain stock and inventory
• Assist other staff as needed, including cleaning hotel rooms

KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge and Certification

Preferred:

• Previous housekeeping or laundry experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time with moderate amounts of walking and occasional sitting
• Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel
• Must be able to reach and twist routinely
• Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely
• Must have the ability to independently lift up to 40 pounds routinely
• Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
• Must have good eye hand coordination

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• Work is performed in the laundry area, which includes exposure to cleaning chemicals and fumes, cigarette fumes and extreme heat; May have to go onto the gaming floor, which has flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
• Occasionally overtime may be required
