Qualifications

• Experience operating commercial/industrial laundry equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial laundry equipment and use supplies per procedures.
• Distribute clean linens to designated areas across both Island Grand and RumFish resorts.
• Retrieve soiled linens and transport to laundry facility for processing.
• Sort and handle clean/soiled linens safely and efficiently.
• Maintain established laundry production standards for quality and productivity.
• Safely operate wheeled laundry carts throughout the resort.
• Lift, carry and transfer linen loads as required.
• Maintain workflow with minimal supervision and keep areas organized.
• Follow safety, sanitation, equipment and resort procedures.
• Maintain regular attendance and adapt to operational needs, including weekends/holidays.
• Work with supervisors and team to meet department goals.

TradeWinds Resort is looking for a dependable and hardworking Laundry Attendant to process, organize, and distribute clean and soiled linens throughout our beautiful resort properties. This position plays an important role in keeping our laundry operation running efficiently and ensuring linens are available where they are needed. Laundry operation is high-volume; flexibility and availability during weekends and holidays are essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial laundry equipment and use laundry supplies according to established procedures.
• Distribute clean linens to designated areas throughout both resort properties (Island Grand and RumFish).
• Retrieve soiled linens from designated areas and transport them to the laundry facility for processing.
• Process, sort, and handle clean and soiled linens efficiently and safely.
• Maintain established laundry production standards for quality, productivity, and performance.
• Safely operate and maneuver wheeled laundry carts throughout the resort.
• Lift, carry, and transfer linen loads as required.
• Maintain an efficient workflow and complete assigned duties independently with minimal supervision.
• Keep laundry areas, carts, and workspaces clean and organized.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, equipment, and resort procedures.
• Maintain regular attendance and flexibility based on the operational needs of the resort.
• Work cooperatively with supervisors and other laundry team members to meet departmental goals.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
• Comply with all Highgate standards, policies, and procedures to support safe and efficient resort operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Functions

• Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift, including 8 hours or more.
• Ability to perform extensive walking and prolonged standing, including periods of standing in one location.
• Ability to perform repetitive upper-body movements throughout the shift.
• Ability to safely push and pull wheeled laundry carts weighing approximately 500–1,000 pounds.
• Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to lift, carry, and transfer linen loads weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform medium physical work, including exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Sustain upper body repetitive movement.
• Work effectively in a warm and humid laundry environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating commercial or industrial laundry equipment is strongly preferred.
• Valid Driver License preferred.
• Previous resort, hotel, or industrial laundry experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities efficiently.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, which are among our busiest operational periods.
• Ability to work extended hours when required based on business needs.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Ability to meet or exceed established production quotas.
• Ability to perform repetitive folding and sorting tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to safely push, pull, lift, carry, and maneuver laundry bins and carts.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work effectively in a warm and humid commercial laundry environment.
