Job summary

The Hotel Laundry Attendant at Holiday Inn Express is responsible for the efficient and hygienic processing of hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and other washable items used across guest rooms, housekeeping, and food & beverage. You ensure clean, well-presented laundry is always available.

You will operate commercial laundry equipment, sort items, follow washing procedures, maintain a clean workspace, and uphold sanitation and safety standards in the hotel.

Qualifications

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull laundry bags, carts, linens, and other materials.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment or learn to operate it safely.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a housekeeping team.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, transport, sort, wash, dry, fold, press, and distribute hotel linens and laundry items.
  • Sort soiled laundry according to color, fabric type, level of soiling, and applicable washing requirements.
  • Operate commercial washers, dryers, ironers, presses, folding machines, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Measure and use laundry detergents, chemicals, bleach, fabric softeners, and other cleaning products according to manufacturer instructions and hotel procedures.
  • Select appropriate wash cycles, water temperatures, chemical levels, and drying settings for different types of fabrics and linens.
  • Monitor laundry machines during operation and report unusual noises, leaks, malfunctions, or other equipment problems to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Remove clean laundry promptly from machines to prevent excessive wrinkles, odors, or mildew.
  • Fold towels, sheets, pillowcases, blankets, uniforms, and other items according to hotel standards.

Job description

The Hotel Laundry Attendant is responsible for the efficient and hygienic processing of hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and other washable items. This position ensures that clean, fresh, properly folded, and well-presented laundry is consistently available for guest rooms, housekeeping, food and beverage operations, and other hotel departments.

The Laundry Attendant operates commercial laundry equipment, sorts and inspects soiled and clean items, follows established washing and drying procedures, maintains cleanliness and organization in the laundry area, and adheres to hotel standards for sanitation, safety, and quality.

Compensation: $16 - $17 yearly
