Job summary

Seabrook Island Club is seeking a laundry staff member to join our team on beautiful Seabrook Island. Your primary role will be managing linens across our facilities, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to our high standards.

Responsibilities include sorting, washing, pressing, and storing linens, along with maintaining the laundry area. Candidates should be motivated, reliable, and able to meet the physical demands of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Any previous job that demonstrates reliability and a willingness to work hard physically.
• Ability to operate the laundry van.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example promoting Seabrook Core Values and Customer Service Motto.
• Maintain clean laundry area including break room and restrooms.
• Sort and weigh laundry, load and unload commercial washing and drying machines.
• Fold at least 500–1,000 pieces of linen per day.

Position Description

Primary function is the pressing, folding and storage of linens involved in the operations of the Housekeeping Department and all Club facilities.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead by example and promote Seabrook Core Values, Characteristics, Customer Service Motto, and Decision Making.
• Maintain clean and neat laundry area, including break room and restrooms.
• Assume full laundry machine operator duties when needed.
• Sort and weigh laundry.
• Load and unload commercial washing and drying machines.
• Fold at least 500–1,000 pieces of linen per day.
• Operate commercial laundry pressing machine.
• Fold and store linens neatly.
• Sort and treat damaged or stained linen as trained.
• Carry out any other tasks as directed by the Director of Engineering.
• Comply with company safety policies and applicable health regulations.
• Promote and adhere to standards set by Seabrook Island Club.
• Lead by example and promote the Seabrook Island Club’s mission to be a superior private club.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma preferred.

Experience: Any previous job that demonstrates reliability and a willingness to work hard physically.

Skills: Motivated, hard‑working team player; valid driver’s license and ability to operate the laundry van.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Equipment To Be Used: Laundry van and buggies, commercial pressers, washers and dryers, and laundry scale.

Typical Physical Demands: Requires frequent bending, reaching, and stooping; must be able to stand for long periods and lift 50 lb.; requires normal hearing and vision and ability to work in extreme temperatures during long shifts.
