Position type: Seasonal Full-Time

Salary range: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Assist the laundry van driver with the distribution and removal of clean and dirty linens.
• Mix and add detergents, dyes, bleach, starch, and other solutions and chemicals to clean, color, dry or stiffen articles.
• Load articles into washing machine, dryer, or pressing machine.
• Start washer, dryer, or extractor and turn valves to regulate and monitor cleaning and drying operations.
• Clean machine filters, lubricate equipment, and perform daily maintenance checks.
• Iron or press sheets, napkins, and other linens by iron or pressing machine.
• Sort and count articles removed from dryer and fold, wrap, or hang items for airing, pickup, or delivery.
• Examine and sort articles to be cleaned into lots according to color, fabric, dirt content, and cleaning technique.
• Pre‑soak, sterilize, scrub, spot‑clean, and dry contaminated or stained articles using neutralizer solutions and portable machines.
• Remove items from washing machine, dryer, or pressing machine.
• Maintain storage areas and keep linen carts clean and tidy.
• Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
• Provide regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a laundry facility and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions, including heat. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

Primarily standing for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to stand, walk, talk/hear, both in person and by telephone, occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pound boxes and items sometimes repeatedly.

Expected Hours of Work

Variable schedule with nights and weekends required.

Less than 10% travel required.
