Job summary

Plymouth Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is looking for a full-time Laundry Assistant. The role pays $18 per hour with weekly pay and requires 30 hours of work per week on-site at our facility.

No formal education is required; on-the-job training is provided. One year of laundry experience is preferred but not required. You will meet the facility's laundry needs, ensure timely linen delivery, and keep laundry equipment in safe, efficient condition.

Education and Experience:

• No education required, on-the-job training provided.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience in laundry operations preferred, but not necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meet the laundry needs of the facility and the residents.
• Ensure laundry process completion and delivery of adequate linen levels in a timely manner.
• Assure that all laundry machinery and equipment are in a safe and efficient working condition.
• Maintains chemicals under safe conditions at all times.
• Remove torn, worn, or soiled linen or clothing from inventory.
• Mend and iron as necessary.

Specific Requirements:

• The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
• Must be knowledgeable of laundry practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing laundry functions in the long-term care facility.
