Position: Laundry Assistant

NHC Place at Cool Springs is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Laundry Assistant to join our team. The position involves collecting dirty linen from nursing units, sorting laundry, and operating washing machines.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Report to laundry at the assigned time and gather dirty laundry as instructed. Load washers and prepare linen for the morning change.
• Keep dirty linen separate from clean linen at all times.
• Check water temperature of each washing machine to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Clean lint traps according to policy, at least once per shift.
• Check levels of laundry detergents, softeners, and bleach as per policy.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, and equipment.
• Remove dry laundry from the dryer, fold, and store according to policy, ensuring clean laundry does not touch the floor.
• Operate washing machines and dryers following manufacturer’s and center’s policies.
• Report equipment issues to supervisors for repairs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Follow all federal, state, and center policies and procedures.
• Work safely, using proper procedures when handling chemicals.
