Job summary

Westminster Retirement Community in Austin, TX is seeking a dedicated laundry assistant to support Independent Living and Health Care Center residents. The role focuses on sorting, washing, drying, and distributing laundry with attention to safety and cleanliness.

This is a full-time position initially as a Laundry associate, with a planned transition to a full-time Housekeeper in February 2027. Schedule: Wed–Fri 9am–3pm and Sat–Sun 5am–1pm, with competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Carry out laundry activities for Independent Living and Health Care Center residents, including sorting, washing and folding.
• Collect, clean and distribute Independent Living and Health Care Center residents’ laundry.
• Ensure that each load is properly sorted, washed, and dried according to State and Federal regulations.
• Fold resident laundry and hang certain items (dresses, blouses, etc.) on hangers.
• Ensure that the laundry is maintained in clean, orderly, and sanitary conditions with minimal errors.
• Follows all safety, security, and infection control policies and procedures.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and keeps laundry area clean, neat, and free of hazards.
• This position is Full-time. This will be a temporary Laundry position, and then in February 2027 this position will transition into a Full-time Housekeeper role.
• Hours: Wed, Thurs, Fri 9am-3pm & Sat, Sun 5am-1pm
