Job summary

Westminster is a premier retirement community in Austin, TX seeking a dedicated laundry worker. Responsibilities include sorting, washing, and folding resident laundry for Independent Living and Health Care Center, plus distributing clean items.

The position emphasizes safety, sanitation, and compliance with regulations. This is a full-time, temporary Laundry role that will transition to a full-time Housekeeper in February 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience with laundry operations preferred.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and infection control policies.

Responsibilities

• Sort, wash and fold resident laundry for Independent Living and Health Care Center.
• Collect, clean and distribute residents’ laundry.
• Ensure loads are properly sorted and washed according to regulations.
• Fold and hang garments (e.g., dresses, blouses) as appropriate.
• Maintain clean, sanitary laundry areas and stock supplies.
• Adhere to safety, security and infection control policies.

Who You Are:

Responsible for carrying out normal activities of laundry for the Independent Living and the Health Care Center residents, including, but not limited to, sorting, washing and folding.

Collects, cleans and distributes Independent Living and Health Care Center residents’ laundry.

Ensures that each load is properly sorted, washed, and dried according to State and Federal regulations.

Folds resident laundry and hangs certain items (dresses, blouses, etc.) on hangers.

Ensures that the laundry is maintained in clean, orderly, and sanitary conditions with minimal errors.

Follows all safety, security, and infection control policies and procedures.

Maintains inventory of supplies and keeps laundry area clean, neat, and free of hazards.

This position is Full-time. This will be a temporary Laundry position, and then in February 2027 this position will transition into a Full-time Housekeeper role.

Hours: Wed, Thurs, Fri 9am-3pm & Sat, Sun 5am-1pm
