Job summary

The Laundry Aide role at Ciena Healthcare's Sheffield Manor Nursing & Rehab Center in Detroit supports a clean, safe, and homelike environment for residents and staff. You will handle linens, trash and waste according to policies, with focus on safety and quality of care.

You'll join a team that values compassion and reliability. A GED or high school diploma and prior housekeeping experience are preferred; training will be provided to ensure adherence to all regulations and standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Prefer one year of experience as a Housekeeper.

Responsibilities

• Respond productively to tasks and projects as assigned.
• Cleans linens per department procedures and cleaning schedule.
• Disposes of trash and waste, including bio-hazardous waste, per policies.
• Complies with safety instructions when using chemicals.
• Cross train in Housekeeping and assist as needed.

The Laundry Aide provides laundry services to provide a safe, sanitary, comfortable and homelike environment for residents, staff and the public. Laundry services provided are maintained in accordance with facility policies and procedures and consistent with state and federal laws and regulations to maintain an environment that enhances the quality of life for residents.

Responsibilities:

• Able to respond productively and to handle additional tasks/projects as assigned
• Cleans linens to department procedures and cleaning schedule
• Disposes of trash and waste, including bio-hazardous waste and other materials that require special handling, in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Complies with all safety instructions and procedures when using chemicals.
• Cross train in Housekeeping and assist as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

• Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED),
