Job summary

Margate Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a Floor Technician/Housekeeping Aide to join our caregiving team. You will be responsible for cleaning, buffing, and maintaining floors across patient rooms, lounges, and common areas to high sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include daily cleaning tasks, reporting to the Environmental Services Director, and handling cleaning equipment and supplies safely. Weekend and holiday hours are required, with opportunities for growth within the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience with general housekeeping and environmental cleaning practices.
• Familiar with cleaning agents, PPE, and safety guidelines.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide a superior level of cleaning quality in assigned areas to maintain a clean work environment.
• Report to Environmental Services Director for work scheduling.
• Perform daily cleaning, buffing, bonneting, floor stripping and extraction as required.
• Move and handle cleaning equipment and supplies safely (lifting 25–100 lb. frequently; over 100 lb. on wheels).
• Maintain lobbies, patient areas, restrooms, offices, and common areas to high sanitary standards.

Margate Health & Rehabilitation is currently seeking a Floor Technician/Housekeeping Aide to join our fantastic team of caregivers.

Responsibilities include:

Provide a superior level of cleaning quality in an assigned area to maintain a clean working environment.

• Report to the Environmental Services Director for work scheduling.
• Perform daily cleaning, buffing, and bonneting procedures and document work completed.
• Perform floor stripping and extraction projects.
• Be capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling furniture and equipment (25 - 100 lb.) frequently.
• Be capable of pushing and pulling a cleaning cart, linen cart, or other equipment (over 100 lb.) on tile and carpeted floors continuously throughout a shift.
• Must be able to handle/interact with all chemicals used
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and even other hours as needed per assigned area.
• Clean lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, patient rooms, offices, halls, nurses' stations, dining rooms, and beauty parlor.
• Sweep and mop floors, clean rugs, carpets, and furniture.
• Clean toilets, sinks, and other restroom fixtures.
• Dust furniture, pictures, and baseboard. Wash walls, windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empty and clean wastebaskets.
• Transport trash and waste to disposal area.
• Replenish bathroom supplies for hand washing at sink areas and disposable gloves for nursing.
• Follow guidelines for labeling of cleaning supplies, wearing appropriate personal protection equipment, etc.
• Label products and bottles according to facility guidelines.
