Focused Post Acute Care Partners in Houston, TX, seeks a Laundry Staff member to manage clothing, linen and related items for residents, ensuring timely washing, drying and distribution to every wing. You will follow safe chemical handling, maintain infection control practices, and coordinate with the care team, reporting equipment issues and adhering to facility policies and resident rights.

• Ability to follow instructions and accept constructive criticism.

• The ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals, as well as being exposed to chemical fumes, dust, and pet dander.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

Responsibilities

• Collects soiled linen and clothing.
• Assists in the sorting of soiled articles.
• Responsible for all washing and drying of soiled articles sent to the laundry for cleaning.
• Transfers clean linens and distributes to wings according to their daily predetermined needs.
• Assists in labeling residents clothing as needed.
• Follows safety precautions when using equipment and supplies.
• Assures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner.
• Reports defective equipment or needed repairs.
• Have a working knowledge of laundry policies and procedures.
• Assures that infection control practices are maintained.
• Coordinates isolation procedures when necessary.
• Reports all accidents/incidents to your supervisor or charge nurse.
• Attends staff education, training and other meetings
• Maintains professional conduct while interacting with residents
• Follows facility policies and procedures including but not limited to resident rights, infection control, dignity, etc.

POSITION SUMMARY:
