Job summary

Focused Post Acute Care Partners at Focused Care at Hogan Park in Midland, TX is seeking a Laundry Staff member. You will collect soiled linen and clothing, sort items, wash and dry them, and transfer clean linens to wings according to daily needs, while labeling clothing as needed.

You will follow safety practices, maintain clean and safe work areas, and ensure infection control procedures are followed. The role includes weekend/evening/holiday shifts and non-exempt status.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collect soiled linen and clothing.
• Assist in sorting soiled articles.
• Wash and dry soiled articles sent to the laundry for cleaning.
• Transfer clean linens and distribute to wings per daily needs.
• Assist in labeling residents' clothing as needed.
• Follow safety precautions when using equipment and supplies.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Report defective equipment or needed repairs.
• Know laundry policies and infection control practices.
• Coordinate isolation procedures when necessary.
• Report accidents/incidents to supervisor.
• Attend staff education and other meetings.
• Maintain professional conduct with residents.
• Follow facility policies including resident rights, infection control, dignity, etc.

Position Summary

It is the responsibility of the Laundry Staff to perform laundry duties associated with resident clothing, linen, and other related work.

Qualifications

• Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals, as well as being exposed to chemical fumes, dust, and pet dander.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

Essential Functions

• Collects soiled linen and clothing.
• Assists in the sorting of soiled articles.
• Responsible for all washing and drying of soiled articles sent to the laundry for cleaning.
• Transfers clean linens and distributes to wings according to their daily predetermined needs.
• Assists in labeling residents clothing as needed.
• Follows safety precautions when using equipment and supplies.
• Assures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner.
• Reports defective equipment or needed repairs.
• Have a working knowledge of laundry policies and procedures.
• Assures that infection control practices are maintained.
• Coordinates isolation procedures when necessary.
• Reports all accidents/incidents to your supervisor or charge nurse.
• Attends staff education, training and other meetings
• Maintains professional conduct while interacting with residents
• Follows facility policies and procedures including but not limited to resident rights, infection control, dignity, etc.

Physical Requirements

Have the ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations

Work Schedule

As assigned, including some weekends, evenings and holidays; non-exempt position
