Job summary

Focused Post Acute Care Partners is seeking an entry-level Laundry Staff member to handle laundry duties for residents, clothing, and linen at Focused Care in Lamesa, TX. The role requires ability to follow policies, work safely with cleaning chemicals, and cooperate with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities include sorting, washing, drying, and distributing linens, labeling clothing, and maintaining infection control practices.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collect soiled linen and clothing.
• Assist in sorting soiled articles.
• Wash and dry soiled articles.
• Transfer clean linens to wings per daily needs.
• Label residents' clothing as needed.
• Follow safety precautions when using equipment.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Report defective equipment or needed repairs.
• Know laundry policies and procedures.
• Maintain infection control practices.
• Coordinate isolation procedures when necessary.
• Report accidents/incidents to supervisor.
• Attend staff education and meetings.
• Maintain professional conduct with residents.
• Follow facility policies including resident rights and infection control.

POSITION SUMMARY:

It is the responsibility of the Laundry Staff to perform laundry duties associated with resident clothing, linen, and other related work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possess the ability to follow instructions and accept constructive criticism.


• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.


• The ability to read, write, and speak English.


• Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals, as well as being exposed to chemical fumes, dust, and pet dander.


• Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Collects soiled linen and clothing.


• Assists in the sorting of soiled articles.


• Responsible for all washing and drying of soiled articles sent to the laundry for cleaning.


• Transfers clean linens and distributes to wings according to their daily predetermined needs.


• Assists in labeling residents clothing as needed.


• Follows safety precautions when using equipment and supplies.


• Assures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner.


• Reports defective equipment or needed repairs.


• Have a working knowledge of laundry policies and procedures.


• Assures that infection control practices are maintained.


• Coordinates isolation procedures when necessary.


• Reports all accidents/incidents to your supervisor or charge nurse.


• Attends staff education, training and other meetings


• Maintains professional conduct while interacting with residents.


• Follows facility policies and procedures including but not limited to resident rights, infection control, dignity, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Have the ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.

As assigned, including some weekends, evenings and holidays; non-exempt position
