Job summary

Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk, NY is seeking a part-time Laundry Aide to ensure clean linens and clothing for residents and staff. The role involves operating laundry equipment, maintaining supplies, and supporting a sanitary, resident-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum experience: No experience required; 6 months of housekeeping experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Good communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, hang, and distribute resident clothing, linens, and facility laundry.
• Ensure an adequate supply of clean linens is available and distributed to departments throughout the facility.
• Label and process resident personal clothing and return clean items to appropriate rooms and storage areas.
• Operate laundry equipment safely and maintain proper chemical supplies for laundry operations.
• Weigh, track, and process laundry according to facility procedures and sanitation standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and complete assigned cleaning tasks.
• Report equipment issues, maintenance concerns, and safety hazards promptly.
• Follow HIPAA, infection control, safety, and facility policies and procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned.
