Job summary

Sun Harbor Healthcare in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a reliable Laundry Aide to ensure residents have clean clothing and linens. This full‑time role runs Monday–Friday, 1:30 PM–9:00 PM, with a pay rate of $15.00 per hour.

You will collect, wash, dry, fold, and distribute items, label clothing, organize closets, and maintain accurate documentation while adhering to infection control and safety procedures. Experience in healthcare or commercial laundry is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull laundry carts and supplies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing and facility linens.
• Properly label resident clothing and ensure items are returned to the correct resident.
• Organize resident closets and assist with new clothing inventory.
• Maintain accurate laundry and clothing documentation.
• Keep the laundry department clean, organized, safe, and sanitary.
• Follow infection control, universal precautions, and workplace safety procedures.
• Monitor linen and supply inventory and report shortages.
• Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, or safety issues promptly.
• Properly clean and store laundry equipment and supplies.
• Safely lift, push, and pull laundry carts, supplies, and equipment.
• Work closely with nursing and housekeeping staff to support resident needs.
