Job summary

Vincentian Home is seeking a Laundry Aide for the day shift (7am-3pm) on a full-time basis at our Pittsburgh campus. You will help manage clothes, linens, and resident spaces to ensure cleanliness and comfort for residents.

The role emphasizes reliability, attention to detail, and teamwork in a care-focused environment with opportunity for growth and benefits such as medical coverage and PTO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of housekeeping or laundry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, count, and weigh soiled linens and clothing.
• Operate washers and dryers following proper procedures.
• Iron, fold, and organize clean laundry for delivery throughout the facility.
• Deliver clean linens and clothing to designated locations:**
• Maintain adequate supply of clean linens and laundry supplies.
• Keep rooms and common areas clean, safe, and presentable.
• Follow cleaning, infection control, and safety procedures.

Our Laundry Aides play an important behind-the-scenes role in resident care by making sure clean linens, clothing, and other laundry items are available when and where they are needed.

What You'll Do

As a Laundry Aide, you'll help keep our residents' clothing, linens, and living spaces clean, comfortable, and well-maintained.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Collecting, sorting, counting, checking, and weighing soiled linens and clothing
• Operating washers and dryers and following proper laundry procedures
• Ironing, folding, inspecting, and organizing clean laundry
• Delivering clean linens and clothing to the appropriate locations throughout the facility
• Maintaining an adequate supply of clean linens and laundry supplies
• Keeping resident rooms and public areas clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive
• Following established cleaning, infection control, and cross-contamination prevention procedures
• Properly using cleaning products, disinfectants, equipment, and personal protective equipment
• Following manufacturer instructions and safety procedures when using chemicals and equipment
• Keeping laundry, housekeeping, and work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
• Cleaning and properly storing laundry equipment
• Monitoring supplies and communicating supply needs to supervisors
• Completing required work records and following established cleaning and laundry schedules
• Reporting hazardous conditions, equipment malfunctions, or other concerns
• Using equipment and resources efficiently and responsibly
• Working collaboratively with team members to support the overall needs of the campus

What We're Looking For

Required:

• High school diploma or GED

Preferred:

• At least one year of housekeeping or laundry experience
• Familiarity with common laundry appliances and equipment
• Ability to learn routine machine operations and follow established procedures
• Ability to accurately track laundry quantities and maintain production or inventory records

We're looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and takes pride in their work. Previous laundry or housekeeping experience is helpful, but we're also looking for individuals who are willing to learn and work as part of a team.
