Job summary

Fair Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center in Fairfax, VA is seeking a reliable Laundry Aide to ensure residents have clean linens and clothing in a comfortable nursing home setting.

You will operate commercial laundry equipment, follow safety and infection control procedures, and work with nursing and housekeeping staff to keep the facility tidy. Prior laundry or healthcare experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in laundry, housekeeping, environmental services, or healthcare preferred but not required.
• Reliable and dependable with good attendance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Comfortable working around cleaning products and commercial laundry equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the workday.
• Compassionate and respectful in a nursing home environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident laundry.
• Follow proper laundry procedures to prevent damage, loss, or contamination.
• Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely.
• Properly measure and use laundry detergents and cleaning products.
• Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Inspect laundry equipment and report any problems or needed repairs.
• Deliver clean laundry to resident rooms and designated areas.
• Handle soiled laundry according to infection control and facility procedures.
• Label and organize resident clothing and personal items as needed.
• Assist with maintaining adequate supplies of clean linens throughout the facility.
• Follow all safety, infection control, and facility policies.
• Work cooperatively with nursing, housekeeping, and other departments.
• Assist with light housekeeping or other facility needs when necessary.

Pay: $16.00–$17.00 per hour, based on experience

Fair Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center is looking for a dependable and hardworking Laundry Aide to join our team. In this role, you will help ensure our residents have clean, fresh linens, clothing, towels, and other laundry items in a clean and comfortable nursing home environment.
