Job summary

Fair Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center in Fairfax, VA is seeking a dependable Laundry Aide to keep resident linens and garments clean and available in a caring nursing home setting.

You will operate commercial washers and dryers, follow infection control procedures, and collaborate with nursing and housekeeping to support a safe, comfortable environment for residents.

No previous experience required, but reliability and attention to detail help. Full-time hours with benefits may apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in laundry, housekeeping, environmental services, or healthcare is preferred but not required.
• Reliable with good attendance and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and infection control policies.

Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing, linens, towels, and other laundry items.

• Measure and use laundry detergents and cleaning products correctly.
• Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and sanitary.

Pay: $16.00–$17.00 per hour, based on experience

Fair Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center is looking for a dependable and hardworking Laundry Aide to join our team. In this role, you will help ensure our residents have clean, fresh linens, clothing, towels, and other laundry items in a clean and comfortable nursing home environment.

What You’ll Do

• Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing, linens, towels, and other laundry items.
• Follow proper laundry procedures to prevent damage, loss, or contamination.
• Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely.
• Properly measure and use laundry detergents and cleaning products.
• Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Inspect laundry equipment and report any problems or needed repairs.
• Deliver clean laundry to resident rooms and designated areas throughout the facility.
• Handle soiled laundry according to infection control and facility procedures.
• Label and organize resident clothing and personal items as needed.
• Assist with maintaining adequate supplies of clean linens throughout the facility.
• Follow all safety, infection control, and facility policies.
• Work cooperatively with nursing, housekeeping, and other departments.
• Assist with light housekeeping or other facility needs when necessary.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous laundry, housekeeping, environmental services, or healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
• Reliable and dependable with good attendance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Comfortable working around cleaning products and commercial laundry equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the workday.
• Compassionate and respectful when working in a nursing home environment.
