Job description

• Sort and separate laundry items according to color, fabric type, and care instructions
• Operate and maintain laundry equipment, including washing machines and dryers
• Load and unload laundry machines using proper weights and settings
• Use appropriate cleaning agents and laundry products to remove stains and odors
• Check and treat items for stains and damages before laundering
• Inspect and fold cleaned laundry items, ensuring proper sorting and storage
• Maintain inventory of laundry supplies and notify the supervisor when additional supplies are needed
• Deliver clean laundry to appropriate areas or individuals
• Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the laundry area
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and excellent service

Requirements

• Previous housekeeping/cleaning/laundry aide experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to reschedule cleaning activities to meet the needs of residents or nursing staff
• Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with residents, families, visitors and co-workers
• Ability to read and understand Standard English
• Ability to work with standard cleaning chemicals
