Job summary

Watertown-Health-Care-Center is seeking a Long-Term Care Laundry Aide to ensure clean linens, clothing, and other items for residents and staff in our facility. You will sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute laundry, operate equipment safely, and uphold infection control guidelines.

A high school diploma and previous healthcare laundry experience are preferred, with the ability to lift and move items. This is a vital role supporting resident comfort and dignity in daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Laundry Operations:

  • Operate laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironing machines, ensuring they are used efficiently and safely.
• Quality Control:
  • Inspect linens and clothing for stains, damage, or wear, and follow appropriate procedures for repair or replacement.
  • Ensure that all laundry meets quality standards and infection control guidelines.
• Inventory Management:
  • Maintain an organized inventory of clean linens and clothing.
  • Monitor and report shortages or excesses of linen supplies and assist in ordering replacements as needed.
• Safety and Infection Control:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures in handling, washing, and distributing laundry.
  • Follow established procedures for handling soiled linens to minimize the risk of cross-contamination.
• Adherence to Policies and Regulations:
