Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping/ cleaning/ laundry aide experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Individual must be able to work independently and reschedule cleaning activities to meet the needs of residents or nursing staff.
• Individual must be able to deal tactfully and effectively with residents, families, visitors and co-workers.
• Must be able to read and understand Standard English and be able to work with standard cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Sort and separate laundry items according to color, fabric type, and care instructions.
• Operate and maintain laundry equipment, such as washing machines and dryers.
• Load and unload laundry machines, ensuring proper weights and settings are used.
• Use appropriate cleaning agents and laundry products to remove stains and odors.
• Check and treat items for stains and damages before laundering.
• Inspect and fold cleaned laundry items, ensuring they are properly sorted and stored.
• Maintain inventory of laundry supplies and inform the supervisor when additional supplies are needed.
• Assist with the delivery of clean laundry to the appropriate areas or individuals.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the laundry area.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and excellent service.
