Job summary

Pavilion of South Shore is seeking a Laundry Aide to join their team. The role involves sorting linens, operating washers and dryers, and delivering laundry to residents while maintaining sanitary conditions and inventory control.

You will work within a facility that emphasizes safety, teamwork, and growth. A High School Diploma or GED is required, and experience in institutional housekeeping is preferred. This is a full-time position with competitive benefits.

Job description

Pavilion of South Shore is seeking a Laundry Aide to join their team! The Laundry Aide provides a variety of laundry duties in an orderly, sanitary condition and in collecting and laundering of linens, garments, and washables.At this facility, this is a collectively bargained position under the union.

Laundry Aide Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sorts all linens and treat stains.
• Loads all laundry into washer and adds specified cleaning agents.
• Takes wet, clean items and dries as directed.
• Sorts and folds or hangs clean dried items.
• May deliver laundry to various locations, including residents’ rooms.
• Maintains inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicates needs to manager.
• Maintains all laundry equipment and informs facility’s manager as to any maintenance needs.
• All other duties, as assigned

Laundry AideSkills and Abilities:

• Must be able to read, speak and understand the English.
• Must be able to operate washer/dryer.

Laundry Aide Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in an institutional setting performing housekeeping services preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to push, pull move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
