Job Responsibilities

1. Pick up, sort, launder, and redistribute personal laundry for assigned residents, ensuring proper labeling and distribution.
2. Collect soiled resident clothing from rooms and utility areas, and receive other items from nursing staff for laundering.
3. Separate items for laundering and dry-cleaning by outside services, check clothing, and mark with name tags as needed. Check returned laundry and distribute to residents.
4. Operate washing machines and dryers, using proper temperatures, detergents, and chemicals.
5. Notify supervisor of worn-out or unusable items for family notification.
6. Launder special items such as posies, sheepskins, and light bedspreads as needed.
7. Sort and distribute laundered items to resident rooms and storage areas.
8. Collect soiled and distribute clean towels; assist in maintaining linen supplies.
9. Assist in distribution of house linens from linen service as needed.
10. Be familiar with housekeeper duties to fill in when necessary.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Previous experience in housekeeping or laundry preferred.
• Ability to work independently and organize routine tasks.
• Ability to make independent decisions in the absence of supervision.
• Interest in working with older adults.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $15.00 - $17.11 per hour.
