Job summary

Teach For America is a national nonprofit offering a full-time, paid, two-year teaching opportunity for diverse candidates. You’ll teach full-time in under-resourced public schools, build trust with families, and gain hands-on experience shaping student learning and addressing broader social issues.

Start Date: Late Spring 2027. 2.5 GPA and a Bachelor’s degree are required; citizenship or eligible status is needed.

Qualifications

• 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.
• Bachelor’s degree in any field.
• Must be a citizen, national, or legal resident of the United States, EAD holder, or have DACA status.
• No background in education or teaching certification required—candidates from all majors are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Teach two years full-time in an under-resourced public school.
• Build genuine relationships with students and families—not just lesson plans.
• Learn to navigate barriers kids face inside and outside the classroom.
• Sharpen communication, problem-solving, and collaboration through daily classroom leadership.
• Work with the school community to remove obstacles and open doors for students.
