Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to apply standard engineering methods to design and implement manufacturing processes for aerospace products. You will work on hardware for the New Glenn program, collaborating with cross-functional teams across facilities to transition from development to production.

A strong background in mechanical design, GD&T, and CAD is essential. You will help identify tooling, create build plans, and drive continuous improvement for safety and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Experience in aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle manufacturing or similar.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including GD&T.
  • Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Translate engineering intent and drawings into functional hardware with BOMs and work instructions.
  • Identify tools and equipment required for manufacturing flight hardware.
  • Provide shipside/lineside floor support on the manufacturing floor.
  • Generate, manage, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
  • Support introduction of new products by crafting build plans, duration estimates, index plans, and tool lists.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for safety and efficiency.
  • Drive transition from development to production and perform troubleshooting as needed.
