Job summary

York Space Systems in Colorado is seeking a Launch Systems Integration Lead to coordinate environmental and flight interface requirements between spacecraft, launch vehicle, and launch site. You will work with York and LV teams to develop LSIRD/ICD documents and verify interfaces.

The ideal candidate holds a engineering degree with 3+ years of experience, a security clearance or higher, and proven ability to lead integrated campaigns, communicate across disciplines, and travel to launch and test

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Experience with Ride Share and NSSL launch integration programs.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware or software technical projects.
  • Experience leading space vehicle to launch vehicle integration campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate between York and LV contractor design teams for environmental and flight interface requirements.
  • Coordinate distribution and configuration management of integrated analyses inputs/outputs.
  • Generate LSIRD and ICD between spacecraft and LV.
  • Support requirement allocation/flowdown to LV system from spacecraft areas.
  • Negotiate LV interface requirements affecting spacecraft design with SV teams.
  • Develop system-wide solutions for incompatibilities and verify interfaces.
  • Support test plans and execution for risk reduction and interface verification.
  • Develop IRD/ICD verifications and closure plans to meet expectations.
  • Coordinate and lead launch campaigns at the Range.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Secret security clearance or higher
  • Experience working commercial Ride Share and National Security Space Launch (NSSL) launch integration programs.
  • Experience working hands-on with hardware or software technical projects.
  • Experience leading space vehicle to launch vehicle integration campaigns.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills: verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Functional technical leadership experience (such as leading anomaly investigation team).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and techniques for eliciting and motivating team performance.
  • Experience in interpreting customer (internal and external) needs and expectations and effectively communicating needs/expectations between interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proposal and technical communication/writing skills.
  • Must be willing to travel to launch sites, test sites, other industry partner offices, and customer locations as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate between York and the LV contractor design teams in support of the development of environmental and flight interface requirements between the SV, LV, Launch Site.
  • Coordinate the distribution and configuration management of integrated system analyses inputs/outputs in a diverse set of technical areas.
  • Generate the Launch Systems Interface Requirements Document (LSIRD) and Interface Control Document (ICD) between the Spacecraft and LV.
  • Support requirement allocation/flowdown to the LV system from the Spacecraft functional areas, and down to various Spacecraft subsystem design specs from the LV system.
  • Negotiate LV interface requirements that affect Spacecraft design with the impacted SV functional team, and develop optimal system-level solutions to any requirement incompatibilities that arise.
  • Support development of test plans and test execution for risk reduction, and requirement verification of Spacecraft and LV hardware interfaces.
  • Develop IRD/ICD requirement verifications and closure plan that meets York and customer expectations.
  • Manage closure plans and verification evidence for each ICD requirement allocated to the LV ICD.
  • Coordinate and lead launch campaigns taking place at the Range.
