Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Distribution Engineer for an onsite Cocoa, FL role focused on power systems for aerospace infrastructure at Kennedy Space Center. You will design, install, commission and expand high- and medium-voltage distribution to support launch operations and future growth.

You will perform load calculations, select equipment, create drawings, and develop field installation work packages while coordinating with construction and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience related to power systems or heavy electrical infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of electrical distribution fundamentals and NEC.
• Ability to work onsite at Kennedy Space Center.
• Willingness to work extended schedules (~50–60 hours/week).
• Experience with high-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement low, medium, and high-voltage distribution systems for launch and facility operations.
• Specify and integrate switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and facility electrical infrastructure.
• Develop distribution solutions for pad and facility expansion to meet growing demands.
• Perform load calculations, conductor sizing, equipment selection, and system analysis.
• Create one-line diagrams, layouts, and system studies to guide design and construction.
• Prepare detailed work packages and installation instructions for field teams.
• Support commissioning, startup, testing, troubleshooting, and activation.
• Coordinate with construction, operations, and engineering to align scope and schedule.
• Track progress and deliverables across multiple projects.
• Conduct field walks and inspections to verify compliance with design and safety.
• Report status to stakeholders as needed.
