Job summary

Firefly Aerospace, Inc. seeks a Launch Site Operations Engineer to lead test and launch operations across a growing site portfolio, including US bases and international facilities.

You will sit on console, drive cross-functional decisions, and write procedures ensuring safe, efficient vehicle operations. The ideal candidate has a engineering degree with 2+ years in launch/test environments, on-console real-time experience, and Python/MATLAB proficiency for operational tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in test operations, launch operations, or similar high-consequence environments.
• On-console experience in real-time operations.
• Experience executing automation sequences for hazardous, time-critical or mission-critical systems.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar with demonstrated tooling/automation use.
• Comfortable in launch site environments with heavy equipment and hazardous materials.
• Willingness to support off-hour shifts during launch operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute integrated test and launch operations across a global launch portfolio.
• Lead design reviews with multidisciplinary teams to drive ground-system upgrades and standardized processes.
• Commission ground systems and support on-console operations at the pad.
• Troubleshoot issues and lead anomaly investigations.
• Contribute to automation sequences and operational software tools.
• Write procedures for launch pad configuration and propellant handling.
• Participate in development of company processes, guidelines, and training.
• Collaborate with customers and external stakeholders to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Travel up to 25% to test and launch sites.
