Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is hiring for a Launch Site Development engineer to lead integrated test and launch ops across global sites and support ground-system upgrades. You will write procedures, build automation, and sit on console to drive safe vehicle launches with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience in test/launch operations, real-time on-console work, and proficiency in Python or MATLAB for operational tooling. Willingness to travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in test operations, launch operations or high-consequence environments.
• On-console experience in real-time operations.
• Experience executing automation sequences for hazardous or time-critical systems.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB or similar for tooling/automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute integrated test and launch ops across a global portfolio.
• Lead design reviews with multidisciplinary teams to upgrade ground systems.
• Commission ground systems and support on-console vehicle/ground ops.
• Troubleshoot issues, lead anomaly investigations during operations.
• Develop automation sequences and operational software tools.
• Write procedures for pad configuration and propellant handling.
• Contribute to company processes, guidelines and training.
• Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to ensure safety and compliance.
• Travel up to 25% to test and launch sites.
